Steel Workshop Labourer

Location: Basingstoke
Rate: £16.75 per hour
Hours: Average 40–45 hours per week

MTS Recruitment is currently looking for a reliable and hardworking Steel Workshop Labourer to join a busy steel fabrication workshop based in Basingstoke.

This is an immediate start and an excellent opportunity for someone looking for stable, ongoing long-term work within a busy engineering and steel fabrication environment.

The Role

Duties will include:

• Assisting steel fabricators and welders within the workshop
• Moving and handling steel sections, materials and components
• Loading and unloading deliveries
• Preparing materials for fabrication
• Using basic hand and power tools where required
• Grinding, cleaning and preparing steel components
• Keeping the workshop clean, tidy and organised
• General workshop and labouring duties
• Assisting with the movement of finished fabricated steelwork
• Following all site health and safety procedures

Requirements

Previous experience working within a steel workshop, fabrication shop, engineering workshop or similar industrial environment would be beneficial.

You must be physically fit and comfortable with manual handling and working in a busy workshop environment.

Candidates must be reliable, hardworking and available to start immediately.
