MTS Recruitment is looking for an experienced Mechanical Inspector to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Denham. The role will involve carrying out inspection and verification of manufactured components, ensuring products meet the required drawings, specifications and quality standards.

The Role

As Mechanical Inspector, you will be responsible for carrying out detailed inspection and testing of components using a range of inspection techniques and equipment. You will interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and associated documentation to ensure components conform to the required standards.

Duties will include:

• Inspecting manufactured components against engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Using height gauges, bore micrometres, DTIs and Intertest equipment
• Recording inspection results and producing accurate inspection documentation
• Identifying and recording non-conforming products
• Ensuring all inspection equipment remains calibrated and correctly maintained
• Working with SAP to record work in progress and track components through the manufacturing process
• Supporting continuous improvement and 5S activities
• Communicating quality issues and non-conformances to the relevant team leader
• Ensuring products meet required quality standards before approval

The Candidate

The successful Mechanical Inspector should have:

• Minimum 5 years' mechanical inspection experience
• Strong experience using height gauges, bore micrometres, DTIs and Intertest
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Previous manufacturing or engineering experience
• Good numeracy and geometry skills
• Ability to accurately document inspection results and produce inspection reports
• Basic computer skills, ideally including SAP
• Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures

An aerospace background, AS9102 FAIR experience, SAP experience and laser scanning inspection experience would be advantageous.
